Money Myths: Money is the Root of All Evil

In this short video (1:40), Ron discusses a common “money myth” that, “money is the root of all evil.” He points out that it is the love of money that leads us into all kinds of evil (I Timothy 6:10). And, he reminds us that we can find our safety, security, and satisfaction in God rather than in our money.

As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith.  Take a moment to consider the following Scriptures, and meditate on their Truth and their application.

I Timothy 6:10 (NIV)
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."”

Matthew 6:19-20 (NASB)
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;”

Proverbs 23:4 (NIV)
“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.”
