What are the spiritual dangers of debt?

In this short video (2:05), Ron shares the spiritual dangers of debt. He reminds us that when we take on debt, we are presuming upon the future, and we may be denying God an opportunity to work in our lives.
As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith. Take a moment to consider the following Scriptures, and meditate on their Truth and their application.

Principle one: Do not presume on the future

James 4:13-15 (NIV)
“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’”

Proverbs 27:1 (NIV)
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
Principle two: God will provide

Psalm 9:10 (NIV)
“Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.”

Psalm 37:3-6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”
