What is stewardship?

In this short video (2:23), Ron begins an eight-week series on biblical stewardship. This week, he answers the question “What is stewardship?”. He points to Christ and says that stewardship involves finishing our unique work with the unique resources that God has given to us.

As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith. Take a moment to consider the following Scriptures, and meditate on their Truth and their application.

I Peter 4:10 (NIV)
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.”

Psalm 24:1 (NASB)
“The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.”

II Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.”

Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

I Corinthians 4:1-2 (NRSV)
“Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God's mysteries. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they should be found trustworthy."

Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
