Practicing the Presence of God, Part 2
In this short video (1:30), Ron continues to share some of what he has been learning in his personal devotion times. His thoughts today expand on the video from last week about “practicing the presence of God.” He reminds us to control our thought life by taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, as Paul teaches in 2 Corinthians 10.
As always, Ron’s encouragement to you is to go back to God’s Word to restore your faith. Take a moment to consider the following Scriptures, and meditate on their Truth and their application.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NASB)
“We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”
II Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
I John 2:16 (ESV)
“For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.”
Romans 12:2 (NIV)
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NASB)
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”
