Five Decisions to True Financial Freedom: The Calling Decision
Hello, my name is Ron Blue. We’ve been talking, sequentially, about the five decisions that people make on the road to financial freedom. The first decision is: do they have a relationship with the Creator God? (the salvation decision) The second decision is: is He going to be Lord of all? (the lordship decision)
Once I’ve decided that yes, He’s going to be Lord of all, I am confronted with a third decision. That third decision is the calling decision. Ephesians 2 verse 10 says that He has prepared works beforehand, that I should walk in them. And in Ephesians 4 verse 1 it says, “live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called.” So, I think this is important – it’s absolutely essential – if you are going to achieve financial freedom. First of all, when did I come to know the Lord Jesus as my Savior? Secondly, have I made the decision that He’s going to be Lord of all?
And then, thirdly, what has He called me to? Do I know that what I am doing today vocationally - I’m a mom (that’s a vocation) – am I called to be a mom? Am I called to be a CPA? Am I called to be a doctor? Am I called to drive a delivery truck? Whatever it is, what has God called me to? Because there is a work which He has prepared beforehand, vocationally, that I should walk in it. That’s the third decision that almost follows automatically from the second decision, which is the lordship decision.
So, my question to you is: do you know what God has called you to? And He’s called you to something that is uniquely you, if I read Scripture correctly. Again, look at Ephesians 2:10, and Ephesians 4:1 to see what God says about calling.
