Stewardship: Money is a Testimony

Hello, my name is Ron Blue. For the last seven weeks, we’ve been talking about different aspects of Biblical stewardship. (We have been) looking at stewardship as total life management. (Stewardship is) the management of everything that God has given me: my time, my talent, my treasure, my relationships, the Truth He’s given me, the business He’s given me, the job He’s given me, the clothes He’s given me. Everything that I have has come from Him. I am a steward; I am a manager over everything that He has given me.

I think the last point is really a critical point when it comes to The Great Commission. We’re called to represent Jesus Christ, and to reveal Jesus Christ in this world. Jesus was called to reveal the Father, and He shows the Father by His own life.

I think the last point on stewardship is that my life (how I handle money, how I handle all of those things I’ve been responsible for) is a testimony to the world. The world has a right to look to you and me as believers and see something, not better, but different. It says in the Sermon on the Mount that we’re salt, and we’re light. In other words, let our light shine so that others see the Truth. Let our lives be such that they add flavor, they add substance, they add to everybody else’s life.

So I am a steward, and my life as I manage it as a steward is a testimony to the world of the sufficiency, the glory, the majesty, the awesomeness, the reality of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Father.
